This weekend my niece had a sleep over and she had to make a little pillow like her sister. She designed this heart with hearts pillow in pink and red – perfect for Valentine’s day. As a special treat her pancakes were heart shaped also.

Every year I like to give my nieces and nephew an ornament for Christmas. This year I made them ornaments from an old pair of pajamas I bought for them years ago. My sister didn’t want to part with them so I figured I would give the pj’s a new life.
The hearts didn’t come out perfect, but they are cute and hopefully years from now when they all have a Christmas tree of their own they will have a bit of their childhood to decorate it with (my sister also got a heart of her own).
This past weekend my crafty 8 year old niece had a sleepover at my house and we spent a little time sewing. From an old fleece, some fabric scraps and a handful of batting we got an adorable little owl. She ran the pedal of the sewing machine and hand stitched on the eyes and nose. For her first sewing project I think it came out pretty cute. (Now we just need to get it back to her from the bottom of Grandma’s car.)
