happy 2016! here’s some desktops to help start the new year. hope 2016 is great to you.

some notes about this months desktop:

– i’m excited about using the larger calendar this year. even though i have the month on my computer it is usually covered by 12 different open windows so i never know what day it is. i know the days by shipping days and non-shipping days.
– i really need to paint the walls in this room. it is one of the two rooms in my house that isn’t white and this wall color jacks me up – but apparently not enough yet to actually paint the room. i think this might be the month i break out the tape and paint.
– the stormy pattern is the most popular planner cover choice (as or right now). i’m not sure if it’s the pattern or if it is blue. in the past blue has always been a popular choice. i like it because it’s this year’s interpretation of snow – and snow is my favorite.
– there is a new notebook size in the works. i’m kind of excited about it – small, square, has lots of paper and will have dot and liked paper. the larger notebooks have been in the wholesale catalog for awhile and will be online soon.

august
another month, another view from my desk.

a few notes about my view this month:
– the weather here has been gross out – hot and humid – and i have not been very productive. so, i moved my computer into what i call the production room since that is where the ac is. not sure i am much more productive, but at least when i turn on the ac it’s a much more comfortable work day.
– the black filing cabinet on the left is my favorite new edition to my workspace. it was my father’s flat file from his office and it housed all of the site plans he was working on. now i have it filled with hot stamp dies, large paper and it’s where the jars of pencils get wrapped and boxed.
– the pegboard on the right is from my trade show booth. i like to give things another use instead of keeping it in storage all year – of course when it comes time to ship it out again, i’m not sure what is going to happen with everything hanging on it. to the left of me is part of the old booth that i no longer use.
– if you listen to music, podcasts or movies while working i suggest getting some bluetooth headphones. so nice to just be able to go from room to room without having to make sure you have your phone or ipad with you.

alright, here’s a desktop for all of you who wish you were hanging out by the ocean instead of working.

march
happy march. here are some desktops for you.

this photo was taken at my house and the family photo is of my mom and her family from 50 years ago. the other two photos are from my grandma – from when she was 17 and maybe 70. the one on top makes me laugh. she looks just like mrs. doubtfire. it was one of her favorite movies, but every time i called her mrs. doubtfire she thought i was nuts … have you seen the movie? it’s like they are long lost twins (click on the photo to make it larger).
